You're failing as a mom, sounds a bit harsh, but this is what we tell ourselves when comparing ourselves to others, especially on the days when it seems like things are falling apart. To add fuel to the fire, you scroll through social media, looking at everyone's filter-perfect family and carefully curated content, wondering why they seem to have it all together, and you don't.

To make matters worse, we then turn our attentions inward, noticing the dirty dishes in the sink, the laundry waiting to be folded, or the floors that haven't been mopped in weeks.
You forget about the extra hour that got tacked onto your child’s practice, or the science fair project due tomorrow—the one you only found out about the night before. The extra hour of overtime that you had to take to make sure there was enough money for groceries this week. We forget to show ourselves the same grace that we give others.

Clean dishes and a mopped floor don't determine whether you're a good mom, and it's easy for someone to snap a good picture of a small portion of their day to make it look like a great life.
You're a great mom, and you're doing your best. Life is not written in stone, and what works for some doesn't work for others, especially if you don't see the unfiltered version of a post.

This Week’s: Nudge With Love Challenge
Create a success journal!💜
It's easy to forget your small wins when you're focusing on what went wrong in the moment, and it doesn't have to be complicated, just a notebook that you can go to when you forget that you're human and not a social media super mom.

A success journal helps you notice progress, build confidence, and stay motivated. It also gives you a simple way to track goals, reflect on growth, and lean on when you're having a bad day. If you don't toot your own horn, then who will?
Why a success journal helps
It trains your brain to recognize small accomplishments, which can make progress feel real even on ordinary days.
It builds self-confidence by giving you written proof that you are improving over time.
It supports goal achievement by making your actions and results easier to review and adjust.
It can reduce stress and improve self-awareness because writing down wins and setbacks helps you process experiences more clearly.
It creates a record you can revisit later when motivation drops, or you need a reminder of what an incredible mom you are!
Example of a Success Journal Entry
Dear Me,
Today moved fast, and I almost overlooked the quiet wins.
I kept going when I wanted to pause.
I showed patience in moments that tested me.
I gave love in ways that probably meant more than I realized.
It may not have been perfect, but there were still good moments tucked inside the chaos.
I’m learning to notice them… and let that be enough.
P.S. Love, Mom 💜
